"For women, getting angry is socially unacceptable, even when the anger is over violence, discrimination, misogyny, and other forms of oppression. Anger is unacceptable because angry women are women in touch with their passion and power, especially in relation to men, which threatens the entire patriarchal order. It’s unacceptable because it forces men to confront the reality of male privilege and women’s oppression and their involvement in it, even if only as passive beneficiaries. Women’s anger challenges men to acknowledge attempts to trivialize oppression with “I was only kidding.” And women’s anger is unacceptable to men who look to women to take care of them, to prop up their need to feel in control, and to support them in their competition with other men. When women are less than gracious and good-humored about their own oppression, men often feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, at a loss, and therefore vulnerable."

‘Avengers’ looking for extras July 15-16. Weekend trip to Cleveland anyone?
If you want to be a paid extra in “The Avengers,” the Marvel action film shooting here this summer, head to Cleveland July 15-16.
The open casting call will be for both northeastern and Southwestern Ohio, according to Kristen Erwin, Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Film Commission executive director.
Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”) star in the $170 million production directed by Joss Whedon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”).
Producers will see people 18 and older noon-4 p.m. July 15 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. July 16 at the Holiday Inn, 6001 Rockside Road, in Independence, a Cleveland suburb.
People should “come well-groomed and wearing your best business executive outfit,” the call sheet said. Adults also may submit “current pic tures of children under 18” for consideration as possible extras.
Filming started April 26 in Albuquerque.
Production will move this summer to Ohio, mostly in the Cleveland area.
“The Avengers” will shoot two weeks within 30 miles of Cincinnati, Erwin said in May. She has not said when or where.
Gov. John Kasich lured the comic book superheroes to Ohio in March with state filmmaking tax credits.

Possibly my favorite song of Bonnaroo. The Black Keys are always a religious experience live.
The sky might be falling, but remember you can fly.
